As a company based in the Netherlands, the GDPR is leading for Synthesis and our clients. The GDPR strengthens your rights regarding personal data, and seeks to unify data protection laws across Europe, regardless of where data is processed.

Why do we collect your personal data?

• Improve your browsing experience by personalising the website;
• Enable your use of the services offered by Synthesis;
• Send you email notifications and reminders relevant to your Application, Health Screening and Program Attendance;
• Deal with enquiries made by or about you relating to our services;
• If you agree to receive further information from us we may send you newsletters, announcements and further information about our services.
• Where you submit personal information for publication, for example via our Testimonial Form, we will publish and otherwise use that information in accordance with the permission you grant to us.
• Where you submit Health information and information related to your Personal Journey, we use this for monitoring and evaluating your wellbeing. Access to this information remains limited to you and the Synthesis Team.  
• Where you submit Health information and information related to your Personal Journey, we may use this to monitor the effectiveness of our protocols and to improve our offerings and services. 
• When you return for a second, third or fourth retreat, we want to welcome you without skipping a beat. Keeping a digital record of your journey with us helps us closely attune to your needs.

What information do we collect?

With your prior consent we gather, store, process and analyze the following types of personal data:

• Information about your computer and about your visits to and use of this website (including your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit, number of page views and viewed pages);
• Information that you provide to us for Email Subscriptions (including your name and email contact details);
• Information about your Interactions with our emails (opens, views, links clicked);
• Information about your Interactions with our ads (displays, referral platforms or sources, clicks);
• Information relating to any Transactions carried out between you and us on Synthesisretreat.com or our payment providers;
• Information that you provide to us for the purpose of your Application, Health Screening and/or Exploration Call, including information on your physical health and psychological wellbeing;
• Information that you provide to us prior, during and post participation in our Programs, including information on your personal development and wellbeing;
• Information that you provide to us for Newsletter Subscription (including your name and email contact details);
• Any other information that you choose to send to us via email, social media channels or otherwise. 

How do we keep your data safe?

We take your well-being seriously. This includes your digital well-being. To that end, we make sure that we store your data securely. We're careful to make sure that any third parties we work with take your privacy as seriously as we do.

Be in control of your personal information

Synthesis directly conducts the majority of data processing activities required to service you and support you throughout our programs. We also engage some third party service providers to assist in supporting our programs and services, including in the following areas:

• Google Cloud storage
• Marketing and Analytics
• IT and Security
• Payment processing

• We do not collect data without your consent. 
• We do not share or publish any data you’ve provided without your consent. 
• We do not send you communications without your consent. 
• You can unsubscribe from our communications at any time by clicking on ‘Manage subscription’ in the footer of any email. If you decide to do so, please review the four subscription options:
• Default - This subscription allows us to communicate with you via Automated Emails during the Application Process as well as send you information that is vital for your retreat attendance.
• Service - This subscription allows our Customer Service Team to answer your questions or reach out to you personally if needed. 
• 1:1 - This subscription allows our Retreat, Corporate and Health Teams to contact you personally if needed. 
• Marketing - Receive Synthesis’ Monthly Newsletter and other occasional announcements. 
• After having completed your journey with Synthesis, you may request having your data removed from our systems at any time. 
• We will keep your data for as long as we need it to perform post program check-ins (only if and when needed), answer any complaints or queries and offer you the best possible service if you decide to return to Synthesis for another experience. Currently we will generally keep data for an indefinite period of time, however if you have other preferences we will honor these where possible. 

Your rights include

• Asking us to provide a copy of the personal data that we hold about you. 
• Asking us to correct inaccurate personal data that we hold about you.
• Asking us to remove your medical data.
• The right to be forgotten. Simply ask us to delete any personal data that we hold about you.
